Externally the human relations can be divided in to two simple categories. The people who live their life on Binary relationships and others who don’t (Can I dare to say it analog relations?).
Well, so what do I mean when I Christianize a relationship as Binary? The very literal meaning of course. The world of 0’s and 1’s. The world where either things exist as a whole or they don’t exists at all. Either you like somebody or you don’t like him at all. Either you can talk to him for full day or a single word from his mouth disturbs the total harmony of your life. Lately I have been interacting with loads of people to know their opinion about it. It wasn’t a very welcomed discussion though, as they were not ready to speak about it. Later on after getting some level of comfort they did admit that though they never thought that relations can be binary still it could be defined this way.
I am not trying to convey a dictum that the binary relation ship can only exists at personal level. It could be between people between groups , between countries or may be even continents. So let us try to make it even clear by exemplifying it. How do you define relationship between Raj Thakrey and Lalu Yadav? Between Shiv Sena And SIMI ? between
What I have analyzed as a person, is people who strongly believe in having binary relationships they are successful at personal level but considered as a Big psychopath at society level. They do take time to get cozy with people but once they find the comfort level they are really good at managing relationship. I have a firm belief that managing Binary aka B relationship and living with it both are two different things.
But here is the contradiction. You may have a very different idea about what exactly you are looking from your life? How do you want to live it? What exactly you want from your life name, Fame, money or just few good buddies around. How difficult it is to get good buddies around and if it is really that difficult then why not to enjoy their company as a whole, to enjoy at its best? To put it in short have the positive part of binary relationship with them. I also became aware of the fact that in our prestigious business school the students are being trained over how to ignore being in Binary relations and the articulated name given to it as a subject is “inter personal skill”. Trust me, if you are good at it then only you can be really successful as a manager or whatever administrative options you are exercising for your future. Because how would you deal with Clients whose behavior is not as you expect it to be? You will have to find a way out to get your business done. If not client, what if you manage such kind of relations with your colleagues? What if the colleagues you hate most happen to be the group you have to interact everyday to get your work done? What would you do? Ignore them? If you do so you are basically ignoring the future prospect of your very own career.
There is a famous say “listen to all; it keeps people happy when they get importance But do what your heart says it will keep you happy”. Handling your social life does work that way (personal opinion of courseJ). Some time small compromises make your life comfortable and they help you from averting big Compromises what you may have to make. And if you ask me how to get an idea about how big impact a compromise can have in life, what all I can say is its all vision dependent, the clarity an individual has while resolving his priorities. May be having a perfect rhythm between relations which are almost personality dependent is the key of being successful.
